Phil Collins | $300 Million

The Genesis band member, Phil Collins, has become more than just a drummer, and a backup vocal for Peter Gabriel. He also became a singer and songwriter in his own right. After Gabriel left Genesis, Collins took over being the singer of the band. Under his reign as the frontman, the band released several albums including A Trick of the Tail, Duke, Genesis, and We Can’t Dance just to name a few. In 1996, Collins pursued a solo career where he found himself performing with his own band called Phil Collins Big Band.

Collins’ solo career had its ups and downs, but he still managed to get by especially after Disney hired him to write as well as perform songs for their animated film Tarzan. His song, You’ll Be in My Heart, remained at the No.1 spot on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart for 19 weeks! Part of his investment planning what putting his earnings on real estate, which was bought by a billionaire later on.
