Jessica Rae Springsteen | Bruce Springsteen & Patti Scialfa’s Daughter

The 28-year-old world-class champion showjumper Jessica Rae Springsteen is Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa’s daughter. She grew up on her family’s farm in Coltsneck, New Jersey, surrounded by animals, and began riding at the age of five. She rode every day after school, rarely missing a lesson, and credited equestrian sport with teaching her responsibility. Jessica had discovered her passion at a young age.

Jessica moved to Brussels a year ago and found a city without a language barrier that served as a central location for competitions after spending three summers in England, the Netherlands, and Germany. Lorenzo de Luca, her boyfriend, a showjumper himself, competes in many of the same events, lives five minutes from the stables, and spends the winters together in Wellington, Fla. The couple usually competes from Thursday to Sunday, then rides from Monday through Wednesday, most mornings starting at 9:00 a.m. Jessica rides her horse in the nearby forests for up to four hours a day.
