Underneath every major milestone and achievement made by people is a high degree of innovation and creativity. Thanks to these attributes, people have had a knack for inventing things that help make day-to-day living easier. Of course, as time goes on, these equipment undergo plenty of tweaking and fixing, upgrading them into the best possible versions they will ever be.

One such object that’s gone through numerous variants and changes through the years would be the computers we use. Its earlier units were mostly big, heavy boxes that can only do simple tasks, albeit slowly. With years of improving and researching, they’re now slimmer in appearance and more powerful. Plus, they also have mobile models, like laptops and – yes, you guessed it – mobile phones. Like their big desktop counterpart, these small computers that fit in our pockets can do various tasks via the apps installed in them. Now with that out of the way, for this article, we’ll be talking about a few of these noteworthy applications.

UC Browser

Thanks to the many breakthroughs in the world of technology, we now have access to things that make our daily work and lifestyle a bit easier. One such example would be the internet, a large digital library filled with plenty of information. Of course, to access it, we would need a browser. Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are two well-known names, but there’s another one that’s also just as recognizable.

Although it also has a desktop version, UC Browser often takes credit for being a mobile user’s browser of choice. Initially released back in 2004 as a Java-exclusive app, it has since become available to just about any platform you could think of, and that includes Android and Apple phones. To top it off, UC Browser is also known for loading web pages at a pretty fast rate, so say goodbye to those long waiting times.

Facebook

When talking about the most downloaded apps, it would be a disservice not to mention what’s arguably the most known social media platform in the world: Facebook.

At this point, it’s safe to say the story behind the making of Facebook is known by just about everyone – to some degree, at least. Founded by Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates, the group’s first attempt at a social networking platform was a website made to help fellow Harvard students pick their classes and form study groups. After a couple more attempts, Zuckerburg eventually thought of making something that can connect people from all corners of the world. Of course, this thought then became the reality we now know as Facebook. Besides its webpage, the social media giant also has a mobile app you could download for free at the App Store or Play Store if you’re on Android. With user numbers reaching the millions at this point, it’s no surprise Facebook is also the most downloaded app of the 2010s.

YouTube

Besides browsing through our social media feeds, many of us would also take time to peruse through the content provided by streaming platforms. With that said, one such name worth noting in this category would be Youtube.

Launched back in 2005 by former PayPal employees, YouTube has since become a platform where just about anyone can share all types of entertaining videos, ranging from music videos, vlogs, documentaries, short films, and everything else in between. Besides that, it also has a couple of social media elements to it, such as leaving comments on a video, and content creators can also make posts for their announcements and updates. Well, with the website still improving and its community numbers ever-growing, it’s safe to say this is an investment that has undoubtedly paid off.
